Several researchers from the DSBG listed among the top 2% of the most-cited scientists in their field worldwide
The October 2023 update of the «Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators» by John P.A. Ioannidis provides a detailed analysis of the most-cited researchers worldwide in 22 major scientific fields and 174 sub-disciplines. It includes scientists who belong to the top 2% in their respective fields. The calculations are based on data from Scopus and include various citation metrics, taking into account the author’s position (first, last, co-author), as well as self-citations. The analysis is conducted for both the entire career and the most recent year. All data and analysis codes are publicly accessible. The goal of this database is to enable a fair assessment of scientific performance.
Researchers from the DSBG are also listed in this database. Prof. Markus Gerber (sub-discipline: Sport Sciences) and Prof. Oliver Faude (Sport Sciences) are included in both the career-long list and the most recent year's analysis. Additionally, Prof. Henner Hanssen (Cardiovascular System and Hematology), PD Dr. Serge Brand (Psychiatry), and PD Dr. Sebastian Ludyga (Sport Sciences) are listed among the top 2% in the most recent year's analysis. This is a great testament to the scientific quality at our department and highlights the overall positive development in recent years.

Mehrere Wissenschaftler des DSBG unter den weltweit Top 2 % der meistzitierten Forscher in ihrer Fachdisziplin gelistet
Das Oktober 2023-Update der «Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators» von John. P.A. Ioannidis bietet eine detaillierte Analyse der weltweit am häufigsten zitierten Wissenschaftler in 22 wissenschaftlichen Hauptfeldern sowie 174 Subdisziplinen. Es werden Wissenschaftler berücksichtigt, die zu den Top 2 % ihres Fachbereichs gehören. Die Berechnungen basieren auf Daten von `Scopus´ und beinhalten verschiedene Zitationsmetriken, berücksichtigen die Autorenposition (Erst-, Letzt-, Ko-Autor) und Selbstzitationen. Die Analyse wird sowohl für die gesamte Karriere als auch für das jeweils letzte Jahr angefertigt. Alle Daten und Analyse-Codes sind öffentlich zugänglich. Das Ziel der Datenbank ist es, eine faire Bewertung der wissenschaftlichen Leistung zu ermöglichen.
In dieser Datenbank sind auch Wissenschaftler des DSBG zu finden. Prof. Markus Gerber (Subdisziplin Sport Sciences) und Prof. Oliver Faude (Sport Sciences) sind sowohl in der Karriere-Listung als auch in der Analyse des letzten Jahres zu finden. Zusätzlich sind Prof. Henner Hanssen (Cardiovascular System and Hematology), PD. Dr. Serge Brand (Psychiatry) und PD Dr. Sebastian Ludyga (Sport Sciences) in der Analyse des letzten Jahres unter den Top 2 % gelistet. Das ist ein toller Ausweis der wissenschaftlichen Qualität an unserem Departement und unterstreicht die insgesamt sehr positive Entwicklung der letzten Jahre.
