Synchronising Science in Motion: A Multisite Co-Creation Lab on Exercise-Cognition Effects

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Freiwillige Akademische Gesellschaft (FAG) Freiwillige Akademische Gesellschaft have awarded funding for the international workshop «Synchronising Science in Motion: A Multisite Co-Creation Lab on Exercise-Cognition Effects», which will take place on 6–7 July 2026 at the Department of Sport, Exercise and Health, University of Basel Department of Sport, Exercise and Health, University of Basel. 

The workshop will be held by the HEADS Lab at the Department of Sport, Exercise and Health, University of Basel, and will bring together leading international researchers and early-career scientists to develop a harmonized multisite research framework investigating the acute effects of exercise on cognition. The event combines evidence synthesis, collaborative protocol development, and international network building to advance methodological harmonization in the exercise–cognition field.

Held immediately prior to the European Congress of Sport Science (ECSS) in Lausanne, the workshop provides a unique opportunity to strengthen international collaboration and further establish Basel as an important hub for innovative research in sport and cognitive science.
