RESEARCH INTERESTS
Influence of acute and chronic exercise on blood composition and the mature/immature immune system in health and disease
Current projects involve the investigation of
- Physical fitness as non-invasive adjuvant for stem cell transplantation
- Acute and chronic exercise in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction – characterizing endothelial dysfunction on a cellular, transcriptomic and proteomic level
- Endothelial dysfunction in glaucoma, hypertension and Post-COVID-19
- The gut microbiome as immunological regulator influenced by exercise training
