CURRENT POSITIONS

Since June 2022

Senior Research Assistant & Lecturer, Department of Sport, Exercise and Health (DSBG), University Basel
Since Sept 2022           Laboratory Lead and Biosafety Officer, Molecular Lab-Facility DSBG, University of Basel

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Influence of acute and chronic exercise on blood composition and the mature/immature immune system in health and disease

Current projects involve the investigation of

  • Physical fitness as non-invasive adjuvant for stem cell transplantation
  • Acute and chronic exercise in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction – characterizing endothelial dysfunction on a cellular, transcriptomic and proteomic level
  • Endothelial dysfunction in glaucoma, hypertension and Post-COVID-19
  • The gut microbiome as immunological regulator influenced by exercise training
